QTRAX?

No this is not the sequel to K-Pax...sorry Kevin Spacey. QTRAX is a site that is offering "free" downloads of todays hottest tracks. But of course "free" comes with a price. If users don't mind the advertising that comes with the experience, then go for it.

There are other sites that offer ways of hearing new music.
IMEEM is very well done. Check out the new MURS video (LOVE the Basquiat reference). This site seems a little more useful.
If you are not tired of social networking, add this one to your list.

Sound Advice

Here are some albums ( new and old ) that are on heavy rotation on my iPhone

Hotel Costes
Hotel Costes, Vol. 10

Got to admit, I have slept on this series. But the beauty of music is that you can never have it ALL and there is always time to explore. This CD is great for the lounge/wine bar scene or for those who like to have a smooth soundtrack on your way to work.
Stand outs: Paper Aeroplane by Angus & Julia Stone. I have a soft spot for Glamor Girl by Louie Austen.
Adios by Zimpala

Radiohead
In Rainbows
This is a solid album start to finish. If cost is a factor, I got my copy from Virgin Records in SF for $10. Not bad at all.
Listen for yourself on iTunes or where ever you get you musical freak on.

Cool Kids
Black Mags
The two-wheeled answer to Lupe Fiasco's Kick Push. This is an infectious track. The slowed speech or SKREWIN and low crunchy bass give this track a grittyness that makes you want to grab yo' shawtey and bust out the BMX ( oh you kids and your wacky lingo...).

GASP!

I have posted a mix to www.blentwell.com
that is also available here. The volume is a bit low but it sounds perfect in earbuds.
More mixes to come...

Here is the correct track listing:

1. Countdown (intro)
2. Check My Vibe - Dred Scott
3. Living Legend - Guru
4. Sometimes - Erykah Badu
5. Goody Goody - Lizette Melendez (with Greg Nice)
6. 19-2000 - Gorillaz
7. I Got a Woman - Rock Steady Drew mix
8. Can You Feel Me - Saafir
9. Black Mags - Cool Kids
10. Lyrics to Stay - The ARE
11. Moment In Time - the Pharcyde
12. Countdown (outro-you keep the change)
